Welcome to the Magick of Desert Sage. I am an Eclectic Sage Witch. And this is my personal home page. In it you will get a small glimpse into my fantastical, piscenean world. Being a Pisces, a water sign, means to be something special in the Stellar realm. Simply put… we thrive in "Dream State". Where ideas are not yet manifest on the physical realm and therefore not bound by material or mundane limits. Being the last sign of the Zodiacal Progression, we have passed through all the other Zodiacal Signs and obtained the Keys of each one to form a mirror of the subconscious mind. We mimic what we are drawn to and are able to show others where they stand in there existence. We innately mirror light and dark without effort or intention. Being ruled by The Moon, we naturally possess all the qualities of reflection, intuition, illumination, esoteric knowledge, subconscious insight, fantasy and enchantment.
Becoming a Witch for me was not something that I really chose for myself. Being a Witch was something that was always just there inside. Something just waiting to be activated. And when that took place under the Full Moon one chilly September night in 1986, I knew that I'd found a part of me that couldn't ever be returned to the place from whence it came. The freedom and release I felt under the light of The Moon that night gave me a taste of something I would never want to loose. I had begun the path that has brought me safely to the place I am now. A place of knowing and being proud of who I am and knowing my place and purpose on this plane and on the next. When one knows these things, everything else becomes trivial when taken into perspective with what mundanes call "Life".
"What is a Sage Witch" - you may be asking yourself. Being Sage in this sense and in the simplest terms means first of all to be undedicated to any traditional Path and/ or being free from the influence or power of another Witch, High Priest, High Priestess or any other Spiritual Elder or Authority. The use of the sage plant is to purify, smudge or banish any other spiritual entities or influences. Therefore, in the aspect of a Sage Witch the seeker is only getting the pure wisdom of the Sage. The wisdom being given to the seeker "as is" and as it was given to the Sage from there own experiences and wisdom through the God and Goddess. This is not "book knowledge" but wisdom that can only be attained by one who naturally possesses the ability to divine without the aid of others. If the art of Divining is taught (shown how to interpret) then the wisdom is no longer pure and the Diviner cannot claim to be Sage.
Why "Desert Sage" you ask? The Desert has a magickal significance for me in many, many ways. The American Southwest has always held a special place in my heart. The meaning it holds for me is very mystical. When I'm there I feel a connection with the Earth like I've never felt anywhere before. It holds the ability to avail my Higher-Self to my conscious mind like nothing else can do. When I'm there "The Sage" is in his purest form and the capacity to "see" is unparalleled. It is where my astral body takes flight unimpeded. One of the magickal aspects that are significant to the desert is the elemental value of the natural environment that makes it what it is. And that being the element of Fire. The qualities of fire being heat and dryness. For me, these qualities are conducive in igniting the functions of certain planetary aspects in my Natal Chart. Those being : Moon, Venus, Saturn, Chi. and North Node in Aries (fire) 5th House and an ascending Sagittarius (fire).
